My Wife and I Made Out In The Pulpit . . .

Well maybe not, but we did eat dinner in a pulpit! We just celebrated our 9 year anniversary. We went to a fondue restaurant in Buckhead called Dante's Down the Hatch. They have a ship inside the restaurant surrounded by water and live crocodiles! Down in the Lower Deck of the ship is where they have a live jazz band. We were the first ones in at 6:00 and we got the best seat in the house. We were reading the menu and looking around at all the antiques they have. One of the antiques is an 18th century pulpit from Europe. Then suddenly my wife said I think we're sitting in the pulpit. The waitress came by and we asked her and she said yeah and pointed to a sign above our heads that read, "Confessions daily from 5:00-7:00." My wife and I laughed and we told her I was a Pastor. The food was great although we were looking forward to the chocolate fondue. We found out that you have to have a two day advance order and the minimum order is 6. Apparently they knead the chocolate by hand for eight hours. Dante himself prepares it at your table and it takes two hours to eat. (I'm thinking staff Christmas party next year.) So we capped the dinner off by requesting the band to play Baby Its Cold Outside from the movie Elf.
I love having our Anniversary and Christmas together. It forces me to slow down and remember that even though what we do as Pastors/Church Planters is important, its still not more important than our wives and families.
Have an awesome Christmas!
